Adventure + Gear Fest Moves to Snowbird

Utah’s Adventure + Gear Fest, the state’s largest adventure festival and outdoor gear sale, is moving to Snowbird for its 5th year. This means you won’t have to sacrifice outdoor recreation opportunities to attend, and admission is now free. The fest is held Friday, June 23, from Noon to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Expect 25 unique events, including the Wasatch Mountain Film Festival, Maverik Adventure Vehicle Camp, Gear Village with over 100 outdoor gear vendors, live music, yoga, mountain bike and trail shoe demos, and free kids’ activities.

The mountain location for this year’s Adventure + Gear Fest means attendees will have more opportunities for outdoor adventures, like participating in the 39th Annual Snowbird Bicycle Hill Climb, a 10-mile race with 3,500 feet of vertical gain, before attending the fest. For runners, Sports-Am is hosting a free race on Friday, June 24 at 8:00 p.m. called Run the Evening Bird 5K Trail Run. A free kids’ 1K will also be offered, and the evening runs are followed by a free family-friendly movie.

The Wasatch Mountain Film Festival will have 8 screening blocks at Snowbird during Adventure + Gear Fest. Individual screening block tickets cost $10, or filmgoers can purchase a full festival pass for $50. There will also be a free night of adventure films for kids hosted on the Snowbird Plaza.

The whole week, from June 17-24, is Adventure Week, and other races, guided hikes, outdoor yoga classes, photography clinics, cool air concerts, and giveaways will be held in Sandy and Snowbird. Get the full schedule online.
