3 Utah New Year Races to Get You Motivated

Stick to your fitness resolutions by ending the current year and kicking off the new year with these New Year’s Utah races. Choose from a midnight dash and New Year’s Day runs to begin 2020 on the right foot!

Midnight Madness: December 31, 2019; Sugarhouse Park, Salt Lake City, UT.

Closeout 2018 by racing the clock to the finish at Salt Lake’s Sugar House Park. Choose your start time on New Year’s Eve with races beginning every 5 minutes from 11:15 to 11:40. Finish before midnight to “Beat the New Year” and receive an award. Light refreshments served afterward.

New Year’s Revolution Run: January 1, 2020; Utah Olympic Oval, Kearns, UT.

Start the first day of the New Year right with an indoor racing event held on the 442-meter indoor track at the Utah Olympic Oval. Runners, walkers, and everyone in between attempt to complete as many laps as they can during a five-hour window. Walk a 5K or complete 47 laps for a half marathon. Whatever your goal, you can accomplish it here, without freezing outdoors! All participants receive a finisher’s medal, t-shirt, and swag. Bringing the littles along? A Kid’s Run for ages 10 and under is $10.

Chip timing records each lap to tally up your total distance. Rewards for those who run the most laps but welcoming to all kinds of runners and walkers!

Commitment Day 5K: January 1, 2020; Life Time Fitness, Draper, UT.

NOT YET CONFIRMED FOR 2020. Looking for a family-friendly event on January 1? Look no further. Bring the whole family to run, walk, jog or stroll in South Jordan at this relaxed Commitment Day outdoor 5K event.

Ticket includes a t-shirt, race bib, medal and post-run brunch social. Registration is free for kids under 12 attending with a paid adult. All are welcome. No need to be a Life Time member to participate!

Whether you run outdoors or make loops around the track, start your New Year off right with these three fun Utah races.
