Already have weekend plans? Cancel them. The CamelBak Pursuit Series is rolling into Utah this Friday-Sunday, August 11-13, and you don’t want to miss out. While the fancy glamping safari tents are sold out, you can still purchase one-day passes that include all the daytime fun Pursuers enjoy while still getting to sleep in your own bed at the end of the night. One-day passes include all the gear you’ll need for activities, all meals, cold-brew coffee, open bar, and a huge selection of outdoor activities and classes from mountain biking to stand up paddleboarding to rock climbing.
The whole event is held at Snowbasin Resort, just 33 miles from Salt Lake City, and after previewing the course a few weeks ago, I can assure you–it’s going to be an epic venue.
Choose your own adventure by picking classes and events you want to experience with expert outdoor enthusiasts as your guides. Always wanted to go backpacking? Pursuit Series teaches you how. Or if mastering balance on a slackline is more your style, Pursuit Series has that too. Learn all the outdoor activities you’ve wanted to try, but were maybe uncertain how to master on your own like fly fishing, kayaking, SUPing, meditation, yoga, and trail running.
Beyond the outdoor activities, Pursuit Series is also a place to gain some serious outdoor skills. Whether you want to get the basics on outdoor first aid or backcountry cooking, there’s a class for that. I find that it’s so hard to get involved in a new activity if you don’t have friends already doing it to teach you. Pursuit Series lets you skip that step and learn the skills you need to get out. Last year at a similar event, I took a backpacking cooking class that forever changed the way I eat in the woods. I learned simple, healthy recipes that I now replicate on my own with friends. No more terrible freeze-dried food. Instead, I make my own tortilla soup. Game changing. Seriously.
Any time you’re feeling exhausted during the weekend, kick back and listen to live music with mountain views, unwind by a campfire, or make your own s’mores while enjoying free craft beer.
The best part is, it’s your Pursuit. Craft your schedule as packed or light as you like, and walk away with new friends and a whole slew of new outdoor skills. See the Utah schedule for this weekend to get an idea of what awaits you.
