Twilight Concert Series
Salt Lake’s cheap summer concert series continues every Thursday until September 1 with $5 general admission and $25 VIP tickets to these popular Pioneer Park shows. Arrive early to skip long security lines and enjoy dinner or dessert at food trucks, or check out the local crafts for sale. Concert lineup available online. Tickets sell out so buy in advance.

Snowbird Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest at the Bird is one of Utah’s biggest festivals and a beloved sign of the changing seasons. Enjoy craft beer, German food, music, and dance, beginning August 13 and continuing every Saturday and Sunday until October 9. Also open Labor Day, September 5. While at Snowbird enjoy scenic tram rides, hiking, mountain biking, and summer base activities.

Salt to Saint Relay
You’ve done running relays, but have you ever done a cycling relay? Utah’s own Salt to Saint Relay returns September 23–24 and welcomes new and veteran riders alike. Your team will conquer 400 miles of pavement riding from Salt Lake City to St. George in 24 hours, switching out riders at designated exchange points along the way before finishing victoriously in St. George.

Salt Lake AIDS Walk
Make a difference for those impacted by HIV/AIDS by registering to walk 2.5 miles with the Utah AIDS Foundation on Saturday, September 17 at City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City starting at 9:30 a.m. Registration is free, but every donation helps fight new infections and provides services to those living with HIV/AIDS.

XTERRA Utah
Did you know you can participate in XTERRA Utah even if you didn’t qualify for the National Championship? XTERRA offers an off-road triathlon that’s open to everyone on Saturday, September 17 at Snowbasin Resort in Ogden, Utah. Two distances offered: full (1500M swim, 28K mountain bike, 10K trail run) and sprint (750M swim, 19K mountain bike, 5K trail run). Compete as a team or individually. 5K, 10K, and 21K trail running races held September 18 at the same location.

North Face Endurance Challenge
Returning to Utah for a third year, this trail race weekend is September 24–25 at Park City Mountain Resort. 50-mile, 50K, Marathon, and Marathon Relay are on Saturday and Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K are on Sunday. Kids’ runs take place on both days. All races followed by after-party at resort base. We’re giving away an entry to the distance of your choice and a running kit with North Face shirt, shorts, running jacket, and shoes. Enter by August 20 at Outdoor Sports Guide.

Discrete Peak Series: Snowbird
If you like flat, easy races, the Discrete Peak Series is not for you. Different from all other trail races, this series focuses on maximizing elevation gain to take you to the top of famed peaks. This season’s final race is August 28 at Snowbird. Be prepared to run 8.9 miles with 3,599 feet of climbing up Hidden Peak via Peruvian Gulch to the base of Mineral Basin before ascending Sugarloaf Pass to Mt. Baldy. After the race, stay and enjoy Snowbird’s Oktoberfest, music, and food/drinks.

Colorado Mountain Winefest
Road trip to Colorado’s wine country in Palisade for this huge wine festival weekend from September 15-18. The main event is the Festival in the Park on September 17, which features dozens of Colorado wineries, educational seminars, grape stomping, chef demonstrations, and more. On the other dates, attend a feature chocolate and wine seminar, a wine country bus tour, or even a cider pairing luncheon.

Snowbasin Blues, Brews, and BBQ
Make it a Sunday Funday from now through October 2 at Snowbasin’s free Sunday concert series. The lawn and patio outside Earl’s Lodge hosts the concert stage and barbecue paired with cold drinks. Enjoy music from nationally touring artists while lounging on a blanket or chair. Music starts at noon and lasts until 5:30 p.m. Kids activities include Spider Jump and playground. Head up early and spend the morning hiking before the show!

Sports-am City Creek Bike Sprint
Challenge your quads and test your endurance at this competitive hill climb race to the top of City Creek Canyon. Cool weather and fall colors combine for near-perfect biking conditions on race day, Saturday, October 8. Road and mountain bike participants welcome.
