Join Ski Utah and Protect Our Winters (POW), in partnership with Utah Transit Authority (UTA), Alta Ski Area, Powder Mountain, Snowbird, Solitude Mountain Resort, and Sundance Mountain Resort for a day carpooling, ridesharing, or riding UTA to the slopes for POW Day on January 13, 2019. This fourth annual event was created to help lower CO2 emissions, reduce traffic congestion, and increase awareness around environmental accountability.

January 13 is statistically the snowiest day in Utah based on 50 years of snow data so we’re crossing our fingers for a good forecast!

If you carpool, rideshare or take UTA to participating ski resorts on January 13, share your journey on social media with hashtag #POWDay19 to be entered to win prizes. There are also sweet perks at participating resorts (like rockstar parking for carpoolers):

Alta Ski Area: Preferred parking for carpools with three or more people at the Wild Cat Base Area (first come, first serve)
Snowbird: Preferred parking for carpools with three or more people at Entry 1 and Entry 2 (first come, first serve)
Solitude Mountain Resort: Preferred parking for carpools with three or more people in the Moonbeam Base Area – Entry 1 (first come, first serve)
Sundance Mountain Resort: Preferred parking for carpools with three or more people in the lower parking lot (first come, first serve)
Powder Mountain: UTA bus riders and carpools with three or more people will receive a two-for-one weekday ticket voucher and a POW sticker. The first 200 guests will get a free coffee or hot chocolate coupon (subject to availability).

If you’re planning to take UTA, use the Ski Utah app’s ‘Ride The Bus’ tab to use your location to find the fastest public transit route to any Utah resort. Riders can purchase ski bus fare using the free UTA GoRide app. (Check your season pass perks. Some include free UTA ski bus rides.)
