Geologic History of Big Cottonwood Canyon

Creekside Meeting Room, adjacent to Honeycomb Grill, Solitude Mountain Resort, UT. Join Geologist Rodger Fry to go on an 800-million year journey to understand the processes that formed what is now the beautiful Big Cottonwood Canyon. Understand how fossils of marine life can be found at the top of Honeycomb Canyon at 10,000 feet above sea level. Learn about how the silver-rich mineral deposits were formed and the important role they play in the Solitude Resort being in existence today. Rodger will help participants understand all that is below the Greatest Snow on Earth.
