5 Best Beers for the Ski Slopes

0
By Jenny Willden on December 22, 2017 Adventure, Made in Utah

There’s nothing better than capping off a long ski day with a cold brewski. Whether you’re riding Solitude’s quiet, expansive slopes or packing in with Snowbird’s tram crowd, we have a ski brew for you. Find these 5 ski-themed Utah and Colorado beers for the ski slopes wherever you ride.

solitude brewski apres ski beer

1.Solitude BrewSki Lager from Bohemian Brewery

This season Solitude teamed up with Bohemian Brewery to produce this German-style Pils with mild malty-sweetness and floral Bavarian hops. It’s super drinkable and not too hoppy for the hop-averse, making it a great lighter choice for sipping whether you’re spending the day groomer cruisin’ or slaying the pow. Find it on draft at Solitude’s Thirsty Squirrel all season long.

euphoria pale ale2. Euphoria Pale Ale from Ska Brewing

A joint venture between Durango, Colorado’s Ska Brewing and Venture Snowboards, this tasty seasonal brew’s crafted with epic powder days in mind. It starts with a malty base with toasty caramel sweetness then surprises with a grapefruit hop aroma that makes it stand out from other wintry beers. Pairs well with pizza or spicy eats and worth crossing the state line to find.

3. First One Down Winter Warmer from Wasatch Brewing

A true winter warmer, this ruby brown brew has notes of fruity raisins, figs, and mango with a caramel finish and a hint of piney hops. At 7.1% alcohol, it’s way boozier and bolder than Utah’s typical 3.2% draft options but perfect on a cold winter’s night. Sip it by the lodge fireplace as you watch fresh snow blanket the slopes.

4. Yard Sale Winter Lager from Uinta Brewing

At 4% alcohol and with a light, toasty flavor, this lager’s a perfect choice for winter lovers who don’t crave the season’s heavy brews. The malty golden caramel base has honey hints paired with earthy hops to keep it balanced, and it’s a solid choice for recovering from embarrassing yard sales on the slopes or just cheersing with friends after a great ski day.

snowbird session ipa apres ski beer

5. Snowbird Session IPA from Wasatch Brewing

Relax in the Tram Club after lapping Snowbird’s steep and deep runs with a can of Wasatch Brewing’s Snowbird Session IPA. Available year-round, the citrus and tropical fruit aromas paired with plenty of hops will make it a new favorite of IPA lovers.

After you’ve tried these beers for the ski slopes, try pairing these 5 Utah brews with your other favorite winter adventures.
