It was balmy for a Saturday morning in November, which allowed excellent running conditions for 2014’s Donut Dash 5K. It’s safe to say that this year spirits were high and so were the sugar levels.

What makes this race unique is that there are 3 ways to win. 1st way: run the fastest, 2nd way: eat the most donuts, 3rd way: eat donuts and run so that your adjusted time (30 seconds per each donut you eat) puts you ahead of the pack.

This year’s donut eating winner (and defending champion from last year) ate a total of 72 donuts—and as far as we know all 72 donuts stayed eaten.

Participant Jordan Maddocks had this to say about the event: “I loved it, it was great to get up this morning, smell the fresh November air, and run in solidarity with like-minded, donut-eating individuals.”

If you missed this year’s Donut Dash, be sure to plan on attending next year. Race is typically held in early early November.
