ALTA SKI AREA
After offering lift-served hiking for the first time last season, Alta is returning to foot-served hiking only in 2019. Trails are accessible from the Wildcat and Albion base areas or hike via the summer road for a fee. Visit July 21–22 for guided hikes during the Wasatch Wildflower Festival.
BRIAN HEAD RESORT
Summer fun starts Saturday, June 29 with events and activities happening every weekend through September 7. Expect live music festivals, mountain biking, bike races, festivals, car shows, kids’ activities, and adrenaline adventures. Two chairlifts offer scenic lift rides along with mountain biking and hiking access.
BRIGHTON RESORT
Escape the valley heat by hiking to Brighton’s lakes and wildflowers during the annual Wasatch Wildflower Festival (July 13–14). Send kids ages eight to 16 to Camp Brighton, a weeklong day camp with a focus on fun, creativity, and education.
CHERRY PEAK RESORT
Expect big names like Colbie Caillet and Rodney Atkins for Cherry Peak’s Summer Concert Series June 17–August 2. Add summer activities to your concert tickets for a full day of fun: horseback riding, disc golf, Redneck Waterslide, and mountain biking.
DEER VALLEY RESORT
Ride Undertow, a new intermediate lift-served downhill mountain biking trail, paddleboard, horseback ride, or simply enjoy views on scenic chairlift rides during summer season from June 14–September 2 and weekends until September 22. Keep your kids busy when school’s out at Kids’ Summer Adventure Camp offered all summer long. Or jam at three outdoor concert series: the Deer Valley Concert Series, Utah Symphony’s Deer Valley® Music Festival, and the Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series.
EAGLE POINT RESORT
Summer operations begin June 22 with the opening of mountain biking and hiking trails. If you’re a newer rider looking to start mountain bike racing, come for the Mini Enduro on August 17.
PARK CITY MOUNTAIN
Whether your Utah ski resort summer visit to Park City is to ride the alpine slide, hike, bike the mountain trails, or play mini golf at the resort base, Park City Mountain is the place. An Adventure Pass helps you maximize the fun, but à la carte activity pricing is also available. Park City Mountain Village activities and Canyons Village’s golf course open May 24. Canyons Village opens its hiking, mountain biking, disc golf, and putting course June 15. Free, live music concert series at Canyons on Thursday and Saturday evenings July 6–August 24. POWDER MOUNTAIN
Explore 26+ miles of free hiking and biking trails open dawn to dusk. Mountain bike rentals, tacos, and beer available at Hidden Lake Bike Shop Friday noon–5:00 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Powder Mountain Trail Trials return this year with 5K races July 17, July 24, July 31, and August 7. PowMow also hosts Wildflower Trailfest, a women’s only mountain bike event, on July 13.
SNOWBASIN RESORT
Scenic gondola rides, hiking, mountain biking, mountaintop dining, outdoor concerts, mini golf, and disc golf are available on summer Saturdays and Sundays beginning June 22. The popular, FREE Blues, Brews, and BBQ summer concert series returns with powerhouse bands every Sunday, June 9–September 8. Mount Ogden Midweek Mountain Bike Races are every Wednesday, June 12–August 28 (no race July 3). Movies in the Mountains return July 1–August 5 with free, once-weekly shows on the lawn, Kids Adventure Zone, and dinner options.
SNOWBIRD SKI & SUMMER RESORT
Snowbird’s summer operation date is still TBA, but word on the street is that skiing will remain open until at least Brewfest. Once summer adventures open, head to the Bird for 3,120 feet of turns and drops on the Mountain Coaster. Or buy an all-day adventure pass and add on the Mountain Flyer, alpine slide, climbing wall, bungee trampoline, summer tubing, kids’ activities, and scenic tram rides. From mid-August to mid-October, Snowbird turns into mini Bavaria for Oktoberfest, which runs every Saturday and Sunday and Labor Day Monday.
SOLITUDE MOUNTAIN RESORT
Come for Utah ski resort summer fun with lift-served mountain biking and hiking paired with stunning views, scenic chairlift rides, delicious dining options, and a beautiful 18-hole disc golf course Fridays–Sundays, June 14–October 6. Sundance opens May 17 for zipline tours, art classes, mountaintop yoga, fly fishing, moonlit chairlift rides, hiking, and mountain biking. BlueBird Cafe Concert series returns select dates July 5–August 24 with Nashville singers, songwriters, and musicians. The Sundance Summer Theatre performs Mamma Mia! Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights at 8 p.m. from July 18–August 10.
Olympic Park
Park City’s Utah Olympic Park opens May 20–September 22 for all-age adventures and exhilarating summer activities. Thrillseekers come for the Comet Bobsled, Extreme Zipline, Extreme Tubing, ropes course, and alpine slide. For tamer fun, visit the Olympic and ski museums, go for a scenic chairlift ride, and watch the Flying Aces perform a choreographed freestyle aerial ski show on weekends.
