Bikes for Kids Utah, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, gives away 1,000 bikes annually to underprivileged children from Salt Lake County. The organization's annual Red vs. Blue Hill Climb will bring together the cycling clubs, alumni and fans of BYU and the U of U to raise money and awareness for Bikes for Kids Utah.
The 3-mile time trial up the Salt Lake Valley's Traverse Ridge has an elevation gain of more than 1,300 feet with 10 percent to 12 percent grades in some locations. Racers' individual times will be combined to see which "team" – U of U or BYU, has the fastest riders.
