Tuesday, March 31st 7:00 pm
at Bryant Middle School Salt Lake City
Kelly Perkins, a veteran climber, received a heart transplant in 1995. After a long recovery, coached by her husband, Craig, Kelly regained her strength. She shocked the medical world by becoming the world’s first heart transplant recipient to reach the peak of some of the world’s most challenging mountains, including Mt. Kilimanjaro. In 2003, Kelly and Craig returned to the Swiss Alps to climb the Matterhorn. Their remarkable comeback story is a testament to courage, commitment, and the relentless desire to live.
At 3:30 pm, Kelly will climb REI’s climbing wall with several transplant recipients. At 7:00 pm at Bryant Middle School, 40 South 800 East, SLC, Kelly will share her climbing experience as a heart transplant recipient and offer lessons in courage, overcoming obstacles, and attaining your dreams. Advance tickets will be available for $5.00 at REI SLC Customer Service. Call 486-2100 to check availability. Kelly will sign her book, The Climb of My Life at both events.
